Working in the Maldives placed me in a highly international environment where communication was central to my role. Every day involved interacting with guests from different cultural backgrounds, understanding individual requests, explaining products clearly and adapting my communication style to different people and situations. The experience strengthened my confidence in professional English, cross-cultural communication and building rapport quickly in a guest-facing environment. I also created visual brand materials for internal briefings with colleagues from other departments.
